The standards of behaviour we ask of everyone who studies with CSOL.
This Student Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour CSOL (Commonwealth School of Languages), part of CAQA Groups and a Career Calling International initiative, asks of everyone who studies with us — in the classroom, online, on our premises and in any activity connected with a CSOL course. It exists to keep our small, supportive classes safe, respectful and productive for every learner, and it forms part of your enrolment agreement together with our Enrolment Terms.
CSOL classrooms bring together learners from many countries, cultures, faiths and backgrounds. We expect every student to treat classmates, teachers and staff with courtesy and respect. Harassment, bullying, intimidation, discrimination, and racist or sexist behaviour — in person or online — are not tolerated in any form.
Regular attendance is the single biggest factor in language progress. Attend all scheduled classes where possible, and tell us in advance if you cannot attend. Extended absence may affect your placement in a class and, as explained in our Fees and Refunds policy, does not of itself create an entitlement to a refund.
Placement tests, practice tasks and mock IELTS, PTE and OET tests only help you if the work is your own. Submitting someone else’s work, using unauthorised assistance during a mock test or misrepresenting your results undermines your placement and your preparation. Be honest with us and with yourself about your level — that is how we get you to the right class and the right result.
Course materials are provided for your personal study only. Do not copy, share, publish or resell CSOL materials, and do not record classes — in person or online — without the permission of your teacher and classmates.
When you study online with CSOL, the same standards apply. Join from a quiet place where you can participate, keep your login details and class links private, do not share recordings or screenshots of classmates, and use chat and microphone features respectfully.
Follow safety instructions and emergency procedures at our premises, treat facilities and equipment with care, and report hazards, damage or incidents to a staff member. Alcohol, illegal drugs and weapons are not permitted, and smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor areas away from entrances. If you feel unsafe at any time, on our premises or in an online class, tell a teacher or staff member immediately and we will act on it.
Most issues are resolved with a quiet conversation and a reminder. Where behaviour is serious or repeated, we may issue a written warning, meet with you to agree on expectations, or — in serious cases such as violence, harassment or repeated disruption — suspend or cancel your enrolment in line with our Enrolment Terms. Any fee implications are handled under our Fees and Refunds policy. You will always be told what the concern is and given a chance to respond, and you may appeal any decision through our Complaints and Appeals process.
If you are unsure what is expected of you, ask your teacher or contact us at info@caqa.com.au, on 1800 266 160, or through our contact page.
