How CSOL manages course fees, cancellations, refunds and your consumer rights.
This policy explains how refunds, cancellations, replacements, credits and remedies are managed for CSOL. Nothing in this policy limits rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law. Refunds and remedies depend on the type of product or service purchased, the reason for the request, whether the product or service has been accessed or delivered, and whether a major or minor problem exists.
CSOL (Commonwealth School of Languages), part of CAQA Groups and a Career Calling International initiative, does not take payments through this website. There is no online checkout, shopping cart or stored payment facility. Placement tests are free. Where fees apply to a course or program, they are quoted in writing before you enrol and are invoiced or arranged directly with our enrolment team. You will always know the full cost, what it includes and when it is payable before you commit to anything.
If you change your mind after confirming an enrolment but before your course starts, tell us in writing as early as possible. We will refund tuition fees paid for classes that have not yet been delivered, less any reasonable administrative or third-party costs that were disclosed in your written offer. If you withdraw after your course has started, we will assess the request fairly based on how much of the course has been delivered; where a refund is not payable, we may at our discretion offer a credit towards a future course or a transfer to a later intake.
Occasionally we may need to cancel or significantly change a course — for example, where minimum class numbers are not reached or a teacher becomes unavailable and no suitable replacement exists. If that happens, you may choose between a full refund of fees paid for classes not delivered, a transfer to another course or start date, or a credit for future study. The choice is yours, and no administrative charge applies to cancellations we initiate.
Fees are payable for the course place you have reserved, so missing scheduled classes does not, of itself, entitle you to a refund or a fee reduction. Where you miss classes for reasons within your control, we may at our discretion offer catch-up support or make-up options. If you cannot attend for an extended period because of serious illness, injury or compassionate circumstances, contact us — we will consider deferral, credit or partial refund options on the evidence you provide.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a service we supply fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to remedies under that law: for a major failure you may cancel and obtain a refund for services not supplied, or seek compensation for any drop in value; for a minor failure we may re-supply or fix the service within a reasonable time. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies those rights.
Send your request in writing to info@caqa.com.au, call 1800 266 160, or use our contact page. Include your name, course, start date and the reason for the request, with any supporting documents. We will acknowledge your request within five business days and, where a refund is approved, process it within ten business days to the payment method you used, where practicable.
If you are not satisfied with a fee or refund decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed through our Complaints and Appeals process. You may also contact Consumer Affairs Victoria or the relevant consumer protection agency in your state or territory.
